Still In The Past?

So my mom and I went to this quite familiar big grocery store last week since we were in a hurry and decided to shop there. The place is okay, it’s really big and aside from the grocery itself, they also have a few food stalls where you can eat while you wait or have a snack after the tiring grocery shopping. As we were about to pay our bill, my mom and I can’t help but noticed that they are still using the old school cashiers.

They still manually input the prices of each of the products we bought, and get this, almost all of the products ranging from canned goods, meat, fruits, candies, cookies, toiletries, etc, they all seemed to know the prices very well. They don’t have a barcode scanner or posiflex equipments to accommodate faster work. I got really embarrassed when my mom suddenly questioned the cashier woman as to why they are still using an old cashier and not the new ones. I didn’t bother to stay there to hear the answer. Ha ha. In my mind, maybe the company can’t afford using POS? Hmm..

Soon: Pretty Patio

This is just lovely.

I really want our boring patio to be decorated beautifully. But because of financial difficulty, we had to put it on hold. That was two years ago. Fortunately, my dad is doing good with his business and we’re expecting something little that will be used to buy furniture and umbrellas for our patio. :]

I can’t wait to do some furniture shopping! Mom and I are looking forward to it. :] Comfortable furniture + a good book + a cup of hot chocolate = relaxing.

It’s just funny because I had to ask for my mom’s, my brother’s and my sister’s reward points to transfer them to me. LOL.

Anyway, you can also check out their My Rewards. My Globe App, which I can’t download for some reason because the said app is not available for the PHILIPPINES STORE. What. To workaround this, create a US account and download the app. That’s it.

Home and Happy

After 3 days of confinement, Pitchie is finally back home =) She still needs to drink her vitamins and antibiotics for a week and on time. Phew.

Anyway, after we fetched Pitchie from the vet clinic, we headed home to drop her off. We went to Gateway to check out some stuff and then bought her medicines — glad I only paid PHP100. =) then, we went to Odyssey to check out some DVD/VCD movies and found this!!

Do you have any idea how much that bundle cost? It’s freaking 4k+ PESOS! Holy cow! That’s not the actual design. The box I saw at Odyssey is bigger and bulkier, and each movie has special features and behind the scenes, etc. I will really save for that collection. I MUST! heartyish

I also did a little grocery shopping. Bought ingredients for Fruit Salad for our Noche Buena. I know, it’s too early, but I heard that it’s better to buy your food for Noche Buena and New Year’s Eve this early because prices might go up soon. You guys might want to do early grocery shopping as well.

To Tweet or Not to Tweet… Your Love Life Online

The internet has taken over. It’s gradually creeping into every aspect of our world, from organising our work calendars to reading the latest news. But the area that has been by far the most affected by this magical new invention is our social lives. Networks such as Twitter andFacebook have forced us to re-evaluate the way we present ourselves. We put a lot on display through these websites, sharing photos and a lot of personal thoughts. But how much should we be sharing about our love lives? Is it right to put the ups and downs of whole relationships up for public viewing?

Yes…

Expectation

In some ways, announcing to the world that you’re ‘in a relationship’ is just the expected thing nowadays. In fact, people would be confused if something this momentous wasn’t put up on Facebook. The web demands that we let everyone know whether we’re eHarmony Edinburgh singles or a long married couple. Putting this online will stop any pestering and annoying questions about why you haven’t changed it. There are easy ways out of this if you want to conserve your privacy – you don’t have to list who you’re in a relationship with or you can even delete ‘relationship status’ entirely from your profile.

Commitment

Changing your relationship status to ‘in a relationship’ also shows that you’re fully committed to it. It’s the final test and the sign that something is fully official when it goes up on Facebook. Your partner and plenty of other people would think you had some doubts about the relationship if you refused to announce its existence on Facebook.

Exposure

The internet with its fondness for total transparency exposes cheaters and liars, as it has done with many unfortunate celebrities over the last few years. This is advantageous for everyone – if your partner is being dishonest you’re far more likely to find out about it with social media in play.

No…

Break Ups

The prospect of the potential break-up is a very persuasive reason to keep your love life completely private. Seeing ‘Mr X and Miss Y have ended their relationship’ appear on your wall is always an unhappy moment and there will always be those few idiots who comment on it. Break ups can be a lot more painful under the public eye.

Smug Statuses

Another good reason for keeping silent about your romantic undertakings is that the smug statuses and cheesy photos that result from them can irritate others, especially UK singles. Posting overly gushy tweets about your other half is a sure way to lose a few followers.

All in all, it’s best to tweet in moderation. To avoid awkward questions always update your relationship status. But after this, try to disclose as little as possible about your relationship – it’s personal and should be kept that way.

The Elusive Pottermore Email

This made me laugh as soon as I saw it on Tumblr. HAHA!

Yes, Pottermore, where’s our email? Can’t blame us Potterfans, we’re just too excited!
