My HG ID! :)

It’s here! I was not actually expecting it to arrive today, more like on the 26th.

I was shocked when mom shouted from the living room (I was up in my room) that I have a package downstairs. As I’ve mentioned earlier, I was not expecting it to arrive today. So, I went down, thinking it might be something else (but I suddenly remembered I didn’t purchased anything online the last week) and stared hard at the thin envelope my mom was holding. And then it hit me. My CAFEPRESS order has finally arrived! Woohoo!

It’s nothing to brag about, it’s just that, I AM A FAN! The ID itself is FREE but you have to pay for the shipping which is just $4.

Behold, my own Panem District ID. Distric 4 represent!

Partials by Dan Wells

I bought another book last Sunday. I’ve been seeing this book, Partials by Dan Wells since last month and finally thought of giving it a try. I recommend the book to those who love to read Dystopia. The minute I started reading it, I can’t put it down! I tried my very best to atleast read 10 chapters a day, but it was so hard. The book is a page turner. In just hours, I finished it. Overall, I liked it. A lot! I read somewhere that Partials is going to be a trilogy. And that the second book, Fragments is due next year. THAT LONG!! I honestly cannot wait.

PLOT: Humanity is all but extinguished after a war with partials—engineered organic beings identical to humans—has decimated the world’s population. Reduced to only tens of thousands by a weaponized virus to which only a fraction of humanity is immune, the survivors in North America have huddled together on Long Island. The threat of the partials is still imminent, but, worse, no baby has been born immune to the disease in over a decade. Humanity’s time is running out.

When sixteen-year-old Kira learns of her best friend’s pregnancy, she’s determined to find a solution. Then one rash decision forces Kira to flee her community with the unlikeliest of allies. As she tries desperately to save what is left of her race, she discovers that the survival of both humans and partials rests in her attempts to answer questions of the war’s origin that she never knew to ask.

A Short Trip

Last Friday, me and my mom visited our Aunt somewhere down South of the Metro. It’s been a year since we last saw them, so when we finally arrived, all we did was catch up on things and eat.

I’m glad we went there. It’s a big change. As usual, after the catching up, business proposals and everything, my Aunt would ask us to come along with her to their church and see for ourselves. We attended their church worship the next day. I was also curious, you see. By right now, you might have guessed that me and my mom belonged to a different “group”. Imagine our surprise when we saw their church. It was full! I can’t help but noticed that there are lots of people who doesn’t have chairs to sit on. I guess they need more chairs for church asap. A hundred more, I guess, or less. In the end, I enjoyed the worship.

We had a nice dinner after and went home the next day. It was a very short visit since my mom have to go to work. I hope we can visit OUR place next. I’ll make sure to take some pictures the next time. =)

Happy Mum’s Day!14

Well, belated Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers out there especially to my wonderful mom. =)

New Babies!

New puppies! Yay. What made this particular delivery special is the fact that I assisted my dog in giving birth. Normally, we just make a whelping box for our dog and just leave her alone until the first puppy is out. This time, I wanted to see it. I personally ripped off the sack when the mother started with her umbilical cord instead of the sack. The pup had to breathe, and so I had it ripped with my bare hands! How does it feel? Slimy and warm. But I didn’t matter. I had to do it or the pup suffocates.

My sister decided to call the small one (left photo), Alekai, from the movie Madagascar. And the big one, Fifi, from Open Season 2. I hope they survive. Alekai is so small and fragile. I can’t stand another death. =(

Blog Giveaway: I Won!

Woohoo! This is my second time to win something online. I guess, the odds are in my favor. I won (second winner) from Angie’s contest sponsored by my online friend, Nina of Moshi Luxe. Yay!

I have to say that the delivery was fast! I found out that I won a day ago and then the package arrived the next day. The delivery guy even jokingly remarked that the package might be food because of its bulkiness and heaviness. LOL.

I only won these two lovely Victoria’s Secret set but received a small freebie too! Thank you. =)

Side note: Now, to the other contests I’ve joined, I hope the odds will still be in my favor. =D
