Okay. So this is my solution to the Invalid Disc thingy after patching my base game from 1.24 to 1.33. This may not be the REAL solution, but it worked for me. It’s up to your if you want to try it or not.
——————–
I updated my Sims 3 version from 1.24 to 1.33 using GAMES4THEWORLD’s manual patch update. It was successful. However, when I tried to open the game, it would push through until it reached the part where I have to choose which world/household/sim to play, an error saying.. “INVALD VERSION OF TOWN LIFE DISC.. etc etc”.
I made many attempts to make it work again.
1st ATTEMPT:
- Copy the files under the CRACK folder of the Sims 3 TOWN LIFE CD.
- Paste them inside the Sims 3 base game (program files > electronic arts > the sims 3 > game > bin)
= DIDN’T WORK.
2nd ATTEMPT:
- Copy the files under the CRACK folder of the Sims 3 TOWN LIFE CD.
- Paste them inside the Sims 3 base game (program files > electronic arts > the sims 3 > game > bin)
- Paste the files again but this inside the TOWN LIFE FOLDER (program files > electronic arts > the sims 3 town life > game > bin)
= DIDN’T WORK.
My solution to INVALID VERSION OF DISC TOWNLIFE ETC…
- Open The Sims 3 Fix folder (or the Ultimate Fix from GAMES4THEWORLD)
- Copy the files inside the SHOWTIME, MASTER SUITE, PETS, TOWN LIFE folder.
- Paste them at (program files > electronic arts > the sims 3 > game > bin)
- Open The Sims 3 Fix (or the Ultimate Fix from GAMES4THEWORLD)
- Copy the files inside the # Crack folder.
- Paste them at (program files > electronic arts > the sims 3 > game > bin)
I know it’s weird that I have to copy and paste both files in the same directory. But what the hell! I really want my game to load again.
Basically, I just followed the steps provided by GAMES4THEWORLD in their # Intallation Guide PDF. Steps 10 AND 13 to be exact.
Note: Just be aware that your custom worlds might be gone or something after you update. It happened to me but I got it back because I saved a copy to my dekstop.
I’m also using the RELOADED version of Sims 3. =)
