A very short post.
Smart Bro No Signal, No Auto Run Problem Fixed
So I finally decided to have my Smart Bro stick repaired at CityLight last weekend. According to them when I called up yesterday for follow up, the problem was the software, which I suspected weeks ago, and that I have to pay PHP330 for the repair. I’m not sure if the PHP50 check up is already included in that PHP330. Oh well, atleast my Smart Bro is up and running. I don’t want to buy another stick costing PHP1200!
And speaking of SMART
Regarding our Postpaid application, nada. No calls yet. No units available for our Plan. It’s been a month already and nothing. What’s happening Smart? Should we cancel our application and apply in another branch? Just tell us!

Oho! New theme. =) I like it for its simplicity. No header images whatsoever. Well, except the name of my blog and in my sidebar which I deliberately filled with images because I don’t want my blog to look boring.
Anyway, I’d like to share this wonderful WordPress plugin I found yesterday called, InstaPress. By installing and activating the plugin, you get to display your Instagram photos in your sidebar or anywhere in your blog. You can also create your own Instagram Gallery with the plugin’s paging functionality feature — I tried this one, but it seems that it doesn’t work for me, maybe theme or plugin compatibility issues. Anyhoo, it’s very easy to use and I recommend it to those who wants to showcase their Instagram photos in their blog.
- Download InstaPress
- Extract the file and upload the InstaPress folder to your (wp-content/plugins) folder.
- Login to your WordPress dashboard > plugins > InstaPress and activate.
- For further configuration, go to settings > Instapress.
Use the following shortcode in your post or pages:
ex.
Use the following shortcode in your theme (sidebar):
ex.
- userid: ID or username of instagram user (leave blank for popular media, use “self” for your own media or “myfeed” to display your feed)
- piccount: Number of instagrams to display (Default: 9) – Note: It is highly recommended to enable caching for more than 20 pictures
- size: Size of instagrams in pixels (Default: 85)
- effect: Name of the effect to use for the slideshow (Currently only ‘fancybox’ possible) – Since 0.4.3
- url: If this value is set, Instapress ignores the value for userid and piccount and displays a single Instagram (no authorization required!) – Since 1.0
- title: If this value is set to 1 and an effect was set, Instapress will show the Instagram’s title – Since 1.0.1
- paging: If this value is set to 1, your pictures will be displayed as an image gallery. The value for piccount defines the number of pictures per page.
- tag: Use this option to filter Instagrams by tag. Note: At the moment you can only use a single tag. The userid option is ignored if you set this option.
So in my case, I used:
Easy, right? =)

So I finally got my brother his own touch phone yesterday. It’s not as expensive as my current phone, but at least he has a new one. It’s a MyPhone TW1. I bought it for PHP3488 at Gateway Cubao. My brother loves to read books just like me. The reason I wanted to buy him a new phone with a larger screen is because of the ebook feature. And this Myphone TW1 fits the description (and my budget).
Anyway, the phone itself is okay. It runs in JAVA meaning you can install JAVA games and applications for all you want. As for the ebook feature, the only file format that can be read is in .TXT format and so far, the best ebook reader for myphone TW1 is Albite Reader. Camera, well, it’s okay, not what I expected. But it says in the specifications that it has a 3.2 MP. It’s a DUAL SIM phone. Has good WiFi. Oh! It also has a track pad, which comes in handy. Available colors are cappuccino, black and pink.

manual, warranty, cds, tw1 manual
So far, so good. The only downside about this phone is the resistive screen. You have to touch the LCD a little harder and texting is quite hard (sanayan lang, I guess). I don’t see a “SEND TO MANY” option in their messaging – correct me if I’m wrong (not good for those who are constantly sending Group Messages). No camera flash. It has no motion sensor.
Overall, it’s a good phone if you’re on a budget. Tho, I don’t recommend it for people who are hard core texters and apps lover. Just add a couple of thousands and buy a Samsung Galaxy Y. =) I’ll probably get my brother an Android powered phone soon.
Download JAVA apps and games.

Download Albite Reader

What a fun day with the family. Anyway, me, my mom and my sister went to Gateway yesterday. It was supposed to be a window shopping and food day, but turned out to be something I’m not prepared for. LOL. Well, I brought (extra) money with me and I think that’s the culprit. I should have just left my ATM at home. Bad idea.
So, mini shopping it was. After the walking and shopping, we decided to grab dinner at Burgoo. I’ve heard lots of good feedbacks about them and to be honest, this is my first time to eat at this American resto. All I can is that we were hungry when we went in for dinner and left with a very satisfied tummy. Servings are big even for a REGULAR, what more if it’s LARGE! I also like the ambiance at Gateway branch. I’m just not sure at other branches — like I said, this is my first time to dine in Burgoo.
I took some photos of what we ordered and I’m sorry if it’s not good. I only used my phone.

Shrimp Popcorn Ceasar (Regular: PHP325 / Large: PHP495)
(Crisp lettuce tossed in our very own Ceasar dressing, served with crunchy croutons and seasoned shrimp popcorn.)

Super Sampler (Regular: PHP425 / Large: PHP595)
(A combination of Buffalo wings, cheddar cheese fries, mozzarella sticks and onion rings.)

The Sauces

Burgoo’s Cocktail Bar
I just love their Super Sampler. To think three of us were sharing this regular platter and we weren’t able to finish it. The fries with cheddar and bacon bits were yummy! Next time I go there, it will be on top of my list.
Overall, I will definitely eat there again (and order more). It’s a bit pricey but c’mon! It’s definitely worth your money.
Side note: Yes, I know, I’m on a diet, Uh… but yesterday was my “cheat day”. —- Okay, that’s a lame excuse.

Most people here prefer having a car or a SUV. But me, I prefer to have a motor home. Yep! RV. I know owning one is like a having a small house. Well, it’s practically a house! Complete with bathroom (shower & toilet), bedroom, living room, dining room and a kitchen room. I love the thought of travelling from different places here in the country with my own motor home. Just thinking about it makes me excited! But of course, in order for me to own one, I need lots of funds and insurance. Oh well, maybe when I hit the lottery jackpot, motor home will be in my top 10 to buy list!
Anyway, just a quick share for today, if you happen to own a motor home and looking for an insurance that will best fit your needs, then I suggest checking out Good Sam. Not only they provide the best insurance for a motor home repair, but they are one of a kind. Some insurance company will just give you a specific year and specific coverage of parts, while Good Sam provides you more than that! So if you think you need more than insurance, check them out. I’m sure you’ll find their plans accommodating and affordable.
