My First: Globe and Apple

So I’m officially a Postpaid subscriber of Globe. I’m a slave for 2 freaking years. LOL.

Applying for Globe Postpaid was easy (well, for us). I thought the approval will take a week or two because of what I read (forums, facebook) from other Globe Postpaid subscribers. We went to Gateway Globe Center and applied there, filled up the form and told us that our application is subjected for approval and that someone will call us if it’s approved or not. That was Saturday, December 3, 2011. Come Monday, December 5, 2011, mom informed me that somebody from Globe called her up and told us that our application is approved and that the handset is available UNTIL TOMORROW — Why UNTIL TOMORROW? That’s weird. Anyway, we still decided to get the sim and the phone on Tuesday, December 6. And as you can see below, my first ever Apple product. heartyish

I got it FREE from Globe’s My Super Plan – Plan 1799 w/ FREE iPhone 3GS. I didn’t bother to add any add-ons because, honestly, I find it useless since it will be added to my bill. Err. As for the FREEBIES, I chose (1) FREE call and text to other networks, (1) FREE call and text Globe and TM and (3) 3 hours of FREE mobile surfing, which equivalents to 9 hours of mobile surfing. I asked the agent if mobile surfing includes the use of mobile applications such as Twitter, Facebook, Foursquare, etc,. She said yes. I hope she’s right about that. Oh, she also taught me how to turn off the cellular data, 3G and the likes to avoid unwanted internet charges. Well, we’ll see about that when my first billing arrives next month.

Overall, my first experience with globe in regards with their Postpaid application went well. No BS, no delayed whatsoever.

Open me! ♥

As of this post, I’m still waiting for my sim to get activated. They said it will take 24-48 hours. Let’s text each other! HAHA. =D

Yeah, thanks for the heads up. But, how do I sync it sa iPhone? Bawal mag copy paste diba? I mean, how do I install the apps that I downloaded from other websites?

//EDIT// I realized ginawa ko na pala yun last October (nag prepare na ako ng apps that time). HAHA! Sorry. I just forgot how. Anyway, check ko na lang yung forums. :)

an iPhone for Christmas! :) I know it’s an awesome gadget. how I wish I’ll be able to have one someday. Or maybe a different one because it might be phased out already by the time that I am capable of purchasing such! :) I’m quite interested in Globe’s postpaid plans. Do they have any other plans other than iPhone 3Gs?

    [Reply]

    admin Reply:

Yes, right now ang dami nilang plans na affordable naman. Just check Globe’s website na lang for details. It’s kinda hard to explain here. =D

Hi Ate Karen, I’m on a Globe postpaid too, plan 999. HAHAHA. Unlimited Call and Text bayan for a month?

    [Reply]

Oh, top on the bill kasi pag nag register ka sa mga promos nila diba? Kaya hindi na ako nag add-on. Freebies lang. Then my plan is to just turn off my cellular data, location and notifications. Dun daw kasi tumataas ang bill kapag naka-on sila kahit hindi ginagamit. =(

Also, I read sa forum na make sure to check your bill talaga. Like yung internet charges daw. Minsan may himalang nangyayari daw. Tsk.

Thanks for the reminder. =) SURE!! Let’s text!! I’ll message you my number pag activated na =D

so far so good naman yung super surf plan (unli internet). my tita utilizes this plan kasi she’s an fb addict. before she had that kind of plan, umaabot ata ng 5k. minimum yung 3k na bill nya dahil puro on top of her plan.

imessage tayo ate karen. hahaha!! iOS 5 ka ba? it’s like the bbm daw. i haven’t set up mine eh. pero my friend told me na ganun nga. and it uses wifi (or 3g network) so no bayad :3

Sabi nga daw nila maganda yung super surf plan kasi no need to get worried sa bill mo kasi unlimited na nga. After 2 years, papa-change ko na lang ng ganun yung plan ko. :D Oh, baka register ng register tita mo sa Supersurf xx kaya naging malaki bill.

SUREEE!! App din ba siya or built in na? I’m running iOS5. :D

    janelle Reply:

ay shunga ko talaga x_x naka lock ka nga pala no for 2 yrs. harhar :3 yah that’s a good idea. saka 2 yrs, di mo yan mararamdaman. haha :))

alam ko built in app na yung imessages from iOS 5. malapit na ang release ng untethered jailbreak for iOS 5 :) so sad i’m running an iOS 5.1 :(( yung sakin malabo pa ang jailbreak.

pwede ka magjailbreak even though you’re still in lock up period. true na void ang warranty once jailbroken ang phone, but it’s easy to revert it back to the unjailbreak state. reset to factory settings lang katapat nun :)) and walang trace ng pagiging jailbroken sya.harhar :3

btw sis, may mga techie stores sa greenhills na nagooffer ng paid apps for nonjailbreak users for a fee. sabi ng friend ko around 1k ata, pero super daming apps na nun :3

    admin Reply:

Talaga?? Hindi malalaman ng Globe? Hmmm.. Isip pa ako. :) update me naman pag may untethered na :D balak ko pa naman mag upgrade sa 5.0.1 nila. Haha! Ahhhh! About the iMessage, I saw it na sa phone ko. Hoho. Let’s try!

Better be careful in the Data/3G settings because they might charge you a lot, never forgot to deactivate “data” settings when not in use. I can help you in jailbreaking your phone but I think globe does not allow it :(. You can get free games in the net, just drag the IPA in the itunes and your all set :)

    P.S: Pwede maki textmate,hahah.. :P

    [Reply]

    admin Reply:

Yes, the agent told me to always turn it off when not in use. I even turned off the Notifications and Location Services just to be sure. Basta lahat ng pwede i-off, inoff ko na. Haha!

As in Globe does not allow the Jailbreaking? Wtf. :(

    Haha! Sure! :))

wow an iphone! you’re so lucky!! haha :) and welcome to the post paid club. i’ve been a globe post paid subscriber since 2005. ugh… lemme remind you that there will be times that the service would suck big time. but i dunno, i guess i love my number that’s why i’m still a postpaid subscriber upto present :)

i’m a big fan of jailbreak >:) i get the paid apps for free. i can help you if you want to jailbreak your phone. i suggest that you do it on your own because it’s super dali lang. and no comment na lang dun sa mga nagssales talk na may nagrereklamo daw dahil nagmmalfunction yung gadget because of the jailbreak.

but if you’re into the legal thing (paying apps haha), alam ko credit card lang sya girl :3 my friend does this. basta ako namimirata >:)))

I really want to Jailbreak my phone as well! =( Kaso bawal daw ata yun pag naka lock in sa Globe? I’m not sure. Then there’s no available Untethered for iOS5 pa daw. Sigh. I can’t buy paid apps tuloy.

Sure, pag meron ng pang jailbreak, pa teach ako. I’ve read some tutorials, so far, parang easy lang nga. I hope. =) And like I said, baka bawal ako mag Jailbreak kasi under contract pa. =(

Hi! I applied for a postpaid plan po today and I was just wondering, ano pong sinubmit niyong proof of financial capacity? Ako po kasi, 2 months bank account statements and sinubmit ko. Maaaprobahan po kaya jun sa tingin niyo? :-/ Btw, congrats on your iPhone! :)

    [Reply]

My line kasi is under my mom’s name, so ang sinubmit namin as POF is yung 1 month payslip niya. Bank statement is fine as long as yung gross monthly income mo is 10k and above. :)
